Description

We are seeking an Accountant to build our accounting infrastructure from scratch. You will own day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and system setup, while partnering closely with leadership to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency as we scale. This is a foundational role — ideal for someone who loves both the details (journal entries, reconciliations, compliance) and the big picture (building processes, enabling growth).

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and maintain the company’s accounting systems, chart of accounts, and internal controls.
  • Manage AP/AR, payroll, expense tracking, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly financial statements, cash flow reports, and budgets.
  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns.
  • Support tax planning initiatives and identify opportunities for savings.
  • Provide support and financial analysis for special projects.
  • Work with leadership on financial forecasting, cost tracking, and inventory accounting for manufacturing operations. operating procedures and traceability.
  • Ensure GAAP compliance and coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors.
  • Manage customer and vendor onboarding, purchase orders, and payment cycles.
  • Support investor reporting and fundraising due diligence
  • Establish best practices for financial processes as the company grows.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in startups, hardware, or manufacturing environments.
  • Hands-on experience setting up accounting systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) from scratch.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, and cash flow management.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable wearing multiple hats and solving new problems daily.
  • A proactive team player who thrives in early-stage company dynamics.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA certification or progress toward CPA.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling).
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
