Description
We are seeking a Lab Manager / Senior Technician to lead the day-to-day operation of Inlighten's microLED, display, and optoelectronics test laboratories. This role is highly hands-on and focused on running, maintaining, and improving test labs that support both R&D and pilot manufacturing. The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with instruments, fixtures, and devices, and takes pride in keeping a lab running smoothly, safely, and efficiently. You will work closely with optical, electrical, and mechanical engineers to ensure reliable, repeatable, and timely measurement of microLED and display devices.
Key Responsibilities
- •Own the day-to-day operation of the metrology lab, including sample flow, tool scheduling, and workload prioritization
- •Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized laboratory environment and track lab usage, equipment availability, and consumables
- •Perform routine electrical, optical, and optoelectronic measurements on microLED and display samples
- •Operate common lab instruments including source meters, multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrometers, power meters, and integrating spheres
- •Support wafer-level, die-level, and module-level test activities
- •Assist engineers with sample mounting, probing, alignment, and fixture setup.
Minimum Qualifications
- •Associate degree, technical certificate, or equivalent experience in engineering, physics, electronics, or a related field
- •General knowledge of optics and measurement systems
- •3+ years of experience supporting R&D, startup, or pilot-production labs
- •Hands-on experience working in laboratory or production test environments
- •Familiarity with common lab tools and instruments (power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrometers, soldering tools, drilling machines, etc.)
- •Ability to build small fixtures, enclosures, and mechanical test setups
- •Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- •A proactive, curious, and team-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- •Experience working with micro-LED, LED, or display devices
- •Experience in optical, display, or optoelectronic metrology labs
- •Mechanical design or fixture-building experience, including precision alignment, opto-mechanical assemblies, or CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks)
- •Experience managing or coordinating shared laboratory resources
