About the Company

Inlighten Technologies is a Silicon Valley startup developing next-generation microLED technologies for augmented reality (AR) and AI-powered smart glasses. Our mission is to push the limits of microLED performance and manufacturing, enabling scalable, mass-market production. Join us to help create the displays that will power the future of immersive computing.

Description

We are seeking a senior microLED Reliability Engineer to lead reliability validation and lifetime modeling for our microLED display modules. You will own reliability testing protocols, define lifetime metrics, assess product risks, and validate end-to-end display reliability performance. This is a hands-on role that combines reliability testing, data analytics, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define, develop, and execute reliability test protocols for microLED displays across company sites.
  • End-to-end ownership of reliability from the chip, to the packaged component, to the display module in AR glasses.
  • Perform product-level risk assessments and identify key failure mechanisms early in the development cycle.
  • Set up reliability testing lab (including electrical, thermal, and environmental stressors). Oversee the purchase and installation of tools.
  • Collaborate with metrology, process, and failure analysis engineers to identify root causes of reliability failures. Recommend solutions based on design or process improvements.
  • Partner with internal and external teams to define reliability targets that meet customer expectations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Applied Physics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in reliability testing for displays, LEDs, optoelectronics, or semiconductor devices.
  • Deep understanding of optoelectronic device failure modes.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, able to drive programs independently in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally to support Inlighten's reliability program.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in a relevant field of study.
  • Proven track record in a reliability engineering role supporting high-volume manufacturing of display or optoelectronic products.
  • Ability to perform risk assessments and identify reliability concerns with high customer value.
  • Experience developing new reliability test methodologies or lifetime prediction models for emerging products.
  • Strong understanding of device physics for III-V LEDs and microLEDs.
  • Familiarity with failure analysis tools (optical microscopy, SEM, EDX, cross-section, etc).
  • Experience in data analysis and statistical reliability modeling (e.g., JMP, Minitab, Python, MATLAB).
Benefits
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Paid holidays and vacation.
  • Employee stock option plan.
