Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Red Micro-LED Development Engineer to join our advanced optoelectronic device team. The candidate will focus on the design, fabrication, and characterization of high-performance red micro-LEDs for next-generation display applications. The role requires strong expertise in III-V semiconductor materials, epitaxial growth, microfabrication and device characterizations.
Key Responsibilities
- •Lead development of AlGaInP-based red-emitting micro-LEDs.
- •Collaborate with MOCVD epitaxy engineers to optimize material growth for high internal quantum efficiency and uniformity.
- •Design and simulate micro-LED structures for improved light extraction, current spreading, and device reliability.
- •Develop and refine microfabrication processes (photolithography, dry/wet etching, metallization, passivation, bonding).
- •Characterize device performance, including electrical, optical, and thermal properties at wafer and chip level.
- •Analyze degradation mechanisms and propose solutions for enhanced lifetime and efficiency.
- •Collaborate with cross-functional teams (epitaxy, packaging, testing, and system integration).
- •Document development progress, prepare technical reports, and present findings to stakeholder.
Minimum Qualifications
- •Ph.D. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Applied Physics, or related field.
- •3+ years of hands-on experience in III-V optoelectronic devices (micro-LEDs, LEDs, VCSELs, lasers or photo diodes).
- •Strong knowledge of III-V semiconductors (AlGaInP, InP, etc.).
- •Proficiency in MOCVD epitaxial growth techniques and device physics.
- •Hands-on experience in semiconductor microfabrication (etching, deposition, lithography, wafer bonding).
- •Expertise in device characterization (L-I-V, EL spectra, EQE, reliability testing).
- •Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., COMSOL, Silvaco, Lumerical, Sentaurus) is a plus.
- •Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- •Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- •Ability to work both independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
- •Proactive mindset with ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- •Prior experience in red or visible micro-LED development for displays or micro-displays.
- •Prior experience in wafer-to-wafer hybrid bonding with CMOS backplanes.
- •Experience with reliability testing and failure analysis.
Benefits
- •Opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge micro-LED technology shaping the future of displays.
- •Collaborative work environment with industry and academic experts.
- •Competitive compensation and benefits package.
